Ng Si Han (b. 1994) holds a Diploma in Visual Communication with a major in graphic from Temasek Polytechnic School of Design, and is currently pursuing a degree in Sociology at Nanyang Technological University. She spends her free time creating the visuals in her head; hoping they question the mind, provoke lingering thoughts that stays and build uncertainty.

To herAKÏN is more than just another social media firm, it aims to alter the relationships businesses have with their consumers by advocating the genuine and human factor in communication.

Believing that the branding should always be a visual representation of the brand's personality, AKÏN has to be seen as a company made up of teams working together instead of as an individual. Jocular and competent as a whole, and also an establishment that welcomes diversity of all sorts, AKÏN is now perceivable as a brand that embraces every individual they work with – everyone becomes a part of them.

Characterisation

Members or partners of AKÏN are given the opportunity and freedom to express themselves as a uniquely AKÏN character. These characters show the different people behind AKÏN and will be used as an accompanying graphic in personal collaterals (e.g. avatars, email signatures, name cards).

Why the black eye?

Don't worry, we haven't been fighting. If you look closely, you’d notice that the eyes of the characters are actually the exact double dots of the Ï in the AKÏN logo. This ensures consistency and a stronger brand association despite a difference in application.

Secondary Graphics

The shapes and strokes of the facial features and hair of our characters make up AKÏN’s secondary graphics. It's the fun elements you see in our background!

Background

As a further display of creative expression, each of these backgrounds were created by members of AKÏN, and the secondary graphics were used to convey moods through the various shapes and colours.
